New week, new sketches. They are just sketches right now so I didn't go into cleaning things up. Just getting an idea out there right now.

Zombie Greg. He looked like that was what his name should be.

The next one is a warrior from the past who is transported to the future where he joins the 50 year rebellion against a technology dependant race of beings that are trying to take our planet.

Back in the Day

Here are 2 projects that I have worked on. I would love to work on more art gigs but with my time at home/ awake so limited I don't want to screw up deadlines with new clients.

I've worked on pages for PKD Media's comic book series EXO-1 and the Rocksolid Steelbots written by creator and company starter Shawn Pryor. The first part of the story is 16 pages and was published in PKD Media Presents #1 which can be ordered at indyplanet.com. After initial character art Shawn offered me the chance to do the series and I really liked the idea of the story. I've drawn the second part and it's possibly now going to be a graphic novel. SO I'm looking forward to that.

Here is the project that I've been waiting for the most. A collaboration with Dave Dwonch, a great writer/artist/producer.

It's a story of three friends who get a chance to change their pasts and that take it. Would you go back and kill some past tyrant? Nah too complicated. How about change something in your youth. Ok now you're talking.

During the next couple months on Tuesdays and Thursdays Dave Dwonch is going to be posting the first pages on his web comic site at Spacetimecondo.com. It will be followed up in March or April with a 16 page preview comic. It will be very limited in it's print run. Hopefully someone will see this gem and publish the full Graphic novel. A company or two has already shown interest.

Check these titles out and keep hope alive.

These are new sketches from my break time at my day, I mean night job.

My shift is 10:40 PM to 7:30 A.m so I am tired or sleeping for most of the daylight hours. So I thought that getting some sketches done in the latenight break time would be good for keeping up the skills. It helps me not to take a nap and pretend that I'm keeping up the art half of my life.

Hurley of the Oceanic 6

A friend of mine named Bari Stafford requested that ,in honor of the Oceanic 6 returning to the world, I draw Hurley"Hugo" as the sub-mariner. Annnndddd here he is. The man, the myth, super under-sea prince..

On the flip side I had an urge to do a character that isn't as cute and friendly to fish. This was done on the lower portion of the page that Hurley is drawn on.

Hey , you poozers. I just did a sketch with color pencil, regular pencil, Pentel brush pen, and a Prismacolor double ended marker. Thought it might be cool to show the result.

Kilowog is a Member of the Green Lantern Corps and is a kick butt character.

Here's one for Macky, the fact is that I like DC a lot. I drew Ralph Dibney/ Elongated Man in his element (looking for clues). I couldn't remember exactly what his costume looked like, when I was at work, so I drew him in regular clothes.

The weeks almost over but I have a few sketches. I started sketching hulk then started drawing Wolverine. They came out pretty good. I can usually draw Wolverine without thinking about it but I seem to have trouble sometimes with getting Hulk just right.

I am going to try and draw more established characters. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Wheels of time keep on turning

Got some new sketches as well as some art from issue 2 of Earth Sons. We'll start off with Mr. Gino Bino. Pointing his greasy finger at some poor employee. Just a fun little nonsense sketch.

Here's the first version of the cover for Earth Sons #2. It got a "not dynamic /exciting enough". I colored it myself since it wasn't going to the colorist. I still like the image and might put it in the trade paperback when it comes out.

This is the inked drawing that is going to be used for the cover. A little more actiony. Not much action occurs in the issue so I was hesitant to do an action packed cover, but it came out pretty good and I can't wait to see how the colorist (Jennifer Streiner) finishes it off.

These pages are from the arrival of Aleyen the main character (the human) into the kingdom of the Katawa society. The katawa are race of half human/ half feline gentically enhanced creatures. They are led by a lord name Kero Padyr. Read more about them at DarkOceanStudios.com

Well my first comic book is now on sale at indyplanet.com. It's called Earth Sons and it is looking to be a cool book. With a story by Jody Parker, Art by me, and colors/lettering by Jennifer Streiner, it turned out really good. The upcoming issues get better with every page.

It's the beginning of a New Year and new things begin. I recently got a job that has downtime and in the downtime I've been sketching and planning for projects that I can work on when I get home. This Blog is the place where I'll be posting these sketches as well as the finishes and other art that I'm working on.

The first is a Batman piece that came out pretty good. It's done in ballpoint pen ink on the back of some scrap paper I had at the time. I love ballpoint because it has the most bleeding ability of ink pens and they are easiest to find anywhere.

I call this " The engineer". Again ballpoints are easy enough to use and find anywhere you are. I might do some coloring on this one in the future.

I did this one over a couple days in spurts of 15 minute sessions. Her name is clif.
